Eliminating Barriers and Building Bridges
Regional FASD Research Project

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder can happen to the rich, the poor, the well educated, the less educated, younger mothers, older mothers and in every culture. If the mother consumed alcohol during pregnancy, there may be a chance of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

REMEMBER: THERE IS NO SAFE AMOUNT OF ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION DURING PREGNANCY!

Did you Know?

FASD is an issue of concern for ALL populations! It affects people across all ethnicities, income and education levels.

50% - 75% of all pregnancies are unplanned and 16 % - 35% of ALL pregnancies are at risk of prenatal exposure to alcohol and possible brain damage.

Very few people exposed to alcohol during pregnancy exhibit the facial features, as facial features are apparent, “only if the mother drinks between the 18th-21st days of their pregnancy”. That’s only 3 weeks into the pregnancy, when most mothers don’t even realize they are pregnant!
