The Homework Help initiative gives parents and students two new ways to improve academic performance.
The first is the ILC’s online math tutor for grades 7-10. It is a FREE, anonymous, and safe. Students can log onto www.homeworkhelp.ilc.org between 4:30 pm and 8:30 pm (Sunday-Thursday) using a board access code (provided by the school). They can then create a unique user name and password and connect with tutors. This program began September 20, 2009.
The second resource is the Ontario Educational Resource Bank (OERB) which is a product of e-Learning Ontario. It currently offers a growing number of online resources to teachers and students, from Kindergarten to Grade 12, at no cost. There are thousands of teacher-shared resources, including lesson plans, activities, maps, and games, which are:
• aligned with the Ontario curriculum.
• searchable by grade, course/subject, strand, overall expectations, and keyword.
• easy to access and use.
To utilize the OERB please click here, then enter the username and password (provided by the school) and search for a given topic.
