KPDSB partners with Eye See...Eye Learn to support our youngest learners

30 Nov. 2015

Media Release - November 30, 2015

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has partnered with the Eye See…Eye Learn to support families of children who may have vision problems.

Eye See…Eye Learn is a not-for-profit program designed to detect, diagnose and treat children with vision problems when they begin Junior Kindergarten, so that every child can see and learn to the best of his/her ability.  Local Doctors of Optometry provide OHIP-insured eye exams for Junior Kindergarten students, and if prescribed, the child receives a free pair of eyeglasses donated by the program’s eyewear partners.  Funded in part by the Government of Ontario, the Eye See…Eye Learn program is helping Kindergarten students across Ontario at no cost to families.

Within the KPDSB area, there are six optometrists participating in the Eye See…Eye Learn program that families can make appointments with (listed below by area). Families can also go to www.eyeseeeyelearn.ca and click on Find an Optometrist.

  • Dryden Area: Dr. B. Lockyer and Dr. S. Lockyer – 807-223-6213 & Dr. L. Turcotte - 807-223-6895
  • Kenora Area: Dr. J. Agnew and Dr. R. Christiuk – 807-468-3649
